Police have arrested a 23-year-old man linked to a shooting that took place in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood earlier this week.

A man was taken to hospital last Tuesday night after being shot twice in the Pelham Park Gardens area near Davenport Road and St. Clair Avenue West.

Police said there were a number of witnesses in the area when the sound of gunshots rang out at about 6 p.m.

Officers prompted potential tipsters to come forward in the form of a YouTube appeal by Detective Sergeant Mike Leone.

Police arrested Cassius Bell, a 23-year-old from Toronto, on Sunday. He is facing nine charges including aggravated assault and possession of a restricted firearm.
