One man is in hospital after a shooting in west Ottawa Thursday night, with police trying to confirm a description of the suspects.

Ottawa police said they were called to the 300 block of Woodfield Drive around 9:30 p.m. after a report of shots fired.

When they arrived they said they found a man in a parking lot with a gunshot wound on his leg.

He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police said they will release more information including suspect descriptions and the age of the victim when it can be confirmed.
