HALIFAX - A member of the military has been charged with communicating information that could harm Canada's interests to a foreign entity.

Jeffrey Paul Delisle, 40, appeared in Halifax provincial court today on two charges under the Security of Information Act.

Court documents say one of the alleged offences happened between July 6, 2007, and Jan. 13, 2012, while the other is alleged to have occurred last week.

The Halifax-area man also faces a breach of trust charge under the Criminal Code that is alleged to have happened between July 6, 2007, and Jan. 13, 2012.

All the offences are alleged to have occurred in the areas of Halifax, Ottawa and Kingston, Ont.

Delisle was ordered to remain in custody and is due back in court Tuesday.

The court documents do not say which branch of the military Delisle is a member of and they do not list his rank.

The RCMP were not immediately available for comment.
