Hours of labor and more than a week past due, finally the baby thousands of viewers from all over the world had been waiting for was born.

The newborn baby boy made his debut at 3:18 Sunday morning. His parents Nancy Salgueiro and Mike Carreira baked a cake with his siblings for his birthday.

People had logged on to watch the livestream at around 5 p.m. Saturday. It's when Salgueiro sent out the notice contractions were becoming stronger.

"Thank you Dr Nancy for showing how graceful and amazing this experience can be," writes Sadie Phillips on the Your Birth Coach Facebook page.

"My husband and I are expecting our first child in 6 weeks (also a home birth) and we practiced having contractions right along side you," writes Phillips.

It was evident there were many expecting mothers watching. Due dates were streaming in beneath the video.

At one point, watchers shared where they were from. The list included locals from Ottawa and people from as far away as Australia and Malaysia.

The birth weight came in at 6 lb 10 oz.

Salgueiro says the baby's name will be released as soon as she and her husband confirm the spelling.
