Several streets have re-opened in Kingston after heavy rain and flooding led to multiple road closures in the eastern Ontario city on Friday.

At least seven locations were affected by the flooding. By mid-afternoon, Kingston police were still dealing with flooding at the CN overpass on Gardiners Road, north of Bath Road.

The flooding caused several cars to stall across the city, and police were warning motorists to avoid certain areas and to slow down.

Environment Canada said the showers in Kingston had ended by late afternoon. The forecast for the evening is that the skies will start clearing, but there's still a risk of a thunderstorm.
