Ottawa police are investigating two sex assaults that happened in broad daylight in the South Keys and Riverside Drive areas.

Police say the first incident happened at the Greenboro transit station at South Keys on July 19. The second assault was reported on Tuesday near the Riverside Drive bike path.

In both assaults a man approached the female victim, grabbed her pants and pulled them down, according to police.

In one of the cases, police say the suspect fled the scene on a dark-coloured mountain bike. Both assaults occurred in the afternoon.

The suspect is described as an English-speaking male between 16 and 25 years old. He is about five feet 11 inches tall with a medium build and darker skin tone. Police say the suspect might be of Aboriginal descent.
