Olivia Pelling fashions violins, violas and other handcrafted musical instruments. She is a second generation luthier whose work honours her family's strong tradition of lutherie in Canada and Europe. Olivia's business is "Fine Strings". She welcomes commissions from beginner, intermediate and professional players. In her Ottawa shop, she teaches courses in violin making and offers a full repair and set-up service. Quality used violins are also available for purchase. Olivia is a trained classical musician who plays viola with the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra and a fiddle in a local Celtic band.
