It's Deep River's first homicide in the town's history.
Police discovered the body of a young woman when they were called to a home at noon on Tuesday. She has been identified as 27-year-old Michelle Cameron.
Her father in law, John Craig Cameron of Parry Sound has been charged with first-degree murder. He will be back in court next week.
Deep River is located about 200 kilometers northwest of Ottawa.
