One man has pleaded guilty and another is still at large in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old Ottawa boy who was left for dead on a downtown street in December.
Zakaria Dourhnou, 18, pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempting to obstruct justice and breaching conditions of his probation for his role in the shooting death of Yazdan Ghiasi.
Ghiasi was found laying wounded on a downtown Ottawa street in December. He died of a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead in hospital.
Mohamed Wehbe, 18, remains wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder in connection with the case. Police believe he fled the country after the shooting.
When Wehbe left Canada, he apparently bought a return ticket for a flight from Paris to Montreal. The flight arrived in Montreal on Wednesday afternoon, but Wehbe wasn't on the plane.
Ottawa police had said it was highly unlikely the teen would be on the flight, but border guards and airport police were notified just in case.
Two other men also face charges in connection with the murder.
