A chimney fire has caused $60,000 damage to a Stittsville home.
The Ottawa Fire Service says 40 firefighters and 11 rigs were called to the home at 6948 Fernbank Road near Jinkinson Road in west Ottawa around 7:30 Sunday evening.
The Ottawa Fire Service says firefighters arriving at the home found flames showing through the roof and wall surrounding the chimney.
The fire was under control in about 20 minutes. One firefighter was taken to hospital with an apparent knee injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
