Former Ottawa Rough Rider, lawyer and local business leader Jake Dunlap has passed away after an 11-year battle with cancer.

He was 85.

Dunlap was the first player in the CFL to wear a face mask after repeatedly breaking his nose.

Dunlap was also an original investor in the successful eatery chain - the Lone Star Cafe.

He also spent time as General Manager of the Rough Riders and was Ontario's first agent-general to the United States.

Visitation is tomorrow from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick's Basilica.
