RCMP Commissioner William Elliott was spotted typing on his BlackBerry moments before a memorial service for a fallen Mountie. Elliott was standing beside Const. Michael Potvin's Stetson.

As Elliott typed on his BlackBerry, other Mounties casually talked to each other.

When the Mounties were called to attention, Elliott finished typing, and then put the device away.
