Ottawa police say they are waiting for autopsy results to determine if charges against an Ottawa woman will be upgraded to murder.
Tony El-Kassis, 60, was rushed to hospital in critical condition after he was struck by a jeep in Richmond last week. He died in hospital on Thursday.
Rachelle Denis, 38, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Police say Denis and El-Kassis were known to each other.
Police are now trying to determine if El-Kassis died as a result of his injuries. If so, the charge against Denis could be upgraded to murder.
