A 67-year-old female passenger has died after the motorcycle she was on collided with a minivan near Hawkesbury around 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
The motorcycle and van collided near the intersection of County Road 17 and Blue Corner Road in the Champlain Township, east of Ottawa.
The victim was ejected from the motorcycle. She was brought to Hawkesbury General Hospital, but succumbed to her injuries late Saturday afternoon.
The 62-year-old motorcycle driver was airlifted to the Ottawa Hospital's Civic Campus with serious injuries. Both the victim and driver of the motorcycle are from Hawkesbury.
The driver of the minivan was uninjured.
County Road 17 was closed to traffic for eight hours Saturday. The cause is still under investigation.
