Canada's Industry Minister admits we are "just not good enough" compared to the rest of the world when using technology.

Tony Clement announced Monday that we need to re-examine the way we approach technology. He released a plan to improve our "digital economy," or technology's impact on how we work.

Clement wants to build a consensus between governments, the private sector, academia and the public.

Proposals include using more technology in the workplace, and making technology more productive and user-friendly. Clement adds the government plans to introduce new copyright, anti-spam and privacy legislation.

Anyone can go online and comment on that plan until July 9 at www.digitaleconomy.gc.ca.

Feedback will go to a final plan released in late 2011.
