Coffee drinkers sipping an afternoon cup of brew at Bridgehead in the Glebe got a little more than they bargained for when a vehicle drove into the storefront Thursday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle lost control of his car when his dog bit his hand, causing his vehicle to bump into another car, jump the curb and slam into the coffee shop at about 4 p.m.

Although the front of the car was heavily damaged, the store, located at the corner of Bank Street and Second Avenue, was not seriously damaged.

Although the man had to be treated for the dog bite, no other injuries were reported.
