A man and woman are facing charges in connection with a bank robbery on Ottawa's Main Street.

Police say a female suspect wearing a disguise allegedly demanded money and brandished a handgun after entering a Scotiabank branch on the 100 block of Main Street, near Hawthorne Avenue, just before 2 p.m. Monday.

The woman, who was by herself, got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

Police located the female suspect with a man on the nearby Rideau Canal skateway. The pair was arrested and a handgun was recovered, along with property stolen from the bank. The gun was later determined to be an air pistol.

Shannon Rhora, 27, and Christopher Millman, 29, are both charged with three counts of robbery, three counts of uttering threats, one count of possessing a dangerous weapon, one count of using a firearm during the commission of an offence and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

Rhora is also charged with wearing a disguise.

The pair is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
