Police in the Upper Ottawa Valley are asking for the public's help to find a missing National Research Council employee who was last seen leaving his lab in Chalk River more than two weeks ago.

Lachlan Cranswick, 41, disappeared when he left his job at the AECL plant in Chalk River at about 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 18. A colleague called police a few days later when he failed to show up for work.

When police searched his home in Deep River on Jan. 23, Cranswick's front door was unlocked. His car, wallet and passport were still there.

Cranswick is described as a white male who is about five feet 10 inches tall, with a slim build. He has hazel eyes and dark brown hair with a receding hair line. He may be wearing glasses and a dark brown or grey winter parka.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Ontario Provincial Police at 613-584-3500.
