Belleville police have released a photo of a homicide victim whose body was pulled from the Moira River two weeks ago.

Police say their investigation suggests Robert Vaillancourt, 61, died in the early morning hours of July 23. His body was pulled from the river later that morning.

Vaillancourt is a retired General Motors worker who moved to Belleville from the Colbourne area with his wife two years ago. Since moving, he's worked as a sheet metal worker at various locations between Toronto and Belleville.

Police are asking anyone who can help them with their investigation or assist them in identifying Vaillancourt's friends, acquaintances and business associates to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Belleville police at 613-966-0882 ext. 2353 or ext. 2313, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
