Belleville police are treating the case of a 61-year-old local man found dead in the Moira River Thursday morning as a homicide.
Robert Vaillancourt was recovered from the water behind 350 Front St. after emergency crews were called at about 11 a.m.
Police have not released the cause of death, except to say that a post-mortem led them to mark the case as a homicide.
No other details were released in a Friday afternoon statement.
