Ottawa residents now have easy access to food inspection reports at restaurants, cafeterias and grocery stores across the city.
In an effort to improve Ottawa's food inspection system, the city is now posting the reports online.
The move comes after the city's auditor general warned last year that there weren't enough public health inspectors patrolling Ottawa's eateries and 30 per cent of high-risk restaurants weren't inspected as often as they should have.
Now, the city is considering a new internship program that would offer financial incentives to attract more certified professionals to cope with a shortage of inspectors in Ottawa.
That proposal is expected to go before council next week.
