Ottawa police are warning residents in the city's Sandy Hill neighbourhood to lock their doors after three sexual assaults in the area.

Police say the latest incident was reported Sunday morning when a knife-wielding man broke into an apartment in the 100 block of Daly Avenue and allegedly sexually assaulted a young woman.

Police say the incident may be linked to two others in the area; one in November and another in January.

Police say the suspect in the Daly Avenue assault is described as white with a fair complexion, 20 to 25 years old, unshaven or with acne on his face, possibly wearing glasses, and wearing a hood over his head and face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5944.
