The soothing sounds of the harp can be healing sounds as well. Ian Hepburn taught himself to play the harp about twelve years ago, when he performed with a musical group called Imaginary Heaven. His musical journey with the the instrument brought him to a conference in Utah, where me met Sarahjane Williams and learned about vibroacoustic harp therapy. The therapy involves transmitting the vibration of notes played on the harp, through speakers installed on the underside of a specially equipped massage table. Vibroacoustic harp therapy is used to help patients with pain management.
