A Canadian Pacific rail line near the provincial border was shut down after 20 cars derailed in west Quebec early Friday morning.

The rail company says four of the cars were carrying used vehicles when the train went off the tracks near Dalhousie Mills, Que. at about 4 a.m. The other 16 cars were empty.

CP says the railway is used for carrying freight and the derailment does not affect passenger trains.

The company says the railway will be cleared Friday night.

No injuries were reported.
