Although the transit strike is over, Ottawa residents won't see an immediate return to service.

It's estimated to take one week before the first round of buses are serviced and certified to get back on the road. Express routes won't be back to full service until April.(Updated Friday, Feb. 13)

Phase 1

Phase 1, which will see the first round of buses back on the road, begins Saturday, Feb. 7:

Weekend Service

All routes that normally run on weekends will operate at full service, beginning Saturday, Feb. 7.

Weekday service - Phase 1

All regular routes will operate during evening and midday hours outside of the rush hours during the week.

The routes that will operate on their regular weekday schedule, including rush hours are:

  • O-Train and rapid transit routes 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 101, 102 and 106
  • Major routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 85, 86, 87, 111, 114, 118, 129 and 176
  • Routes 16, 116, 172 and 174 will be back online ahead of schedule and will run all day service including peak hours, starting Monday, Feb. 16.

Local feeder routes:

  • In central Ottawa: Routes 5, 18, 112, 152, and 153
  • In Orl�ans: Routes 130, 135, 136, and 137
  • In Riverside South/Leitrim: Routes 144 and 145
  • In Kanata: Routes 160, 161, 164/184, 165, and 168
  • In Barrhaven: Routes 170, 171, and 173
  • Peak-period service will also be provided on employment area routes 102 and 105

School service:

  • All 600-series routes will operate as of Feb. 9
  • Certain key school trips on other routes will operate

Early morning service:

  • All routes, including 800-series routes, will operate.

Bus Routes not operating during Phase 1:

  • Green express and rural express routes
  • Red rush hour routes other than 102, 105 and 184.

Phase 2

Phase 2 of the plan will get more buses back on the road starting Monday, Feb. 23.

Major routes:

  • Regular all-day service will be provided on major route 117.

Regular all-day service will be provided on local feeder routes:

  • In central Ottawa: Routes 148, 151, 154, 156 and 178
  • In East Ottawa and Orl�ans: Routes 124 and 127
  • In Ottawa South: Routes 140, 142, 143, 146, and 147
  • In Bells Corners/Crystal Beach: Route 166

Express/peak service to downtown will operate on the busiest express routes:

  • From Orl�ans: Route 27
  • From Kanata: Route 61
  • From Barrhaven: Route 77
  • From Ottawa South: Route 40

Peak-period service will begin on one more employment area route:

  • Route 182

Phase 3

Phase 3 is slotted to begin Monday, March 16.

Regular all-day service starts on more local feeder routes:

  • In central Ottawa: Routes 121, 126, and 149
  • In Blackburn Hamlet: Routes 125 and 128
  • In Orl�ans: Route 131

Express/peak service to downtown will be provided on more busy rush hour routes:

  • From Orl�ans: Routes 30, 31, 33, 35, and 38
  • From Kanata and Bells Corners: Routes 60 and 66
  • From Barrhaven: Routes 70 and 76
  • In central Ottawa: Routes 82 and 88

Phase 4

The final phase of the plan begins Monday, April 6.

In Phase 4, 100 per cent of OC Transpo routes and trips will operate, including the addition of:

Regular all-day service on more local feeder routes:

  • In central Ottawa: Routes 6, 115, 141, 306, and 316
  • In Barrhaven: Route 181

Express service to downtown on all remaining express routes:

  • From Orl�ans: Routes 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 32, 34, 36, 37, and 39
  • From Kanata: Routes 62, 63, 64, 65, and 68
  • From Crystal Beach: Route 59
  • From Bells Corners: Route 69
  • From Barrhaven: Routes 71 and 73

Peak-period service to downtown on all remaining direct-to-downtown routes:

  • In central Ottawa: Routes 15, 24, 29, 43, 50, 51, 55, 57, and 67

All peak-period feeder and employment-area routes:

  • In central Ottawa: Routes 103, 123, 157, 158, 187, 190, 191, 192, and 194
  • In Kanata: Routes 162, 163, 167, 169, 179, and 183
  • In Barrhaven: Routes 177 and 188
  • In Orl�ans: Route 193
  • In Leitrim: Route 197

All rural and town services:

  • From Manotick: Routes 45 and 186
  • From Cumberland: Routes 221, 231, and 232
  • From Stittsville: Routes 261, 262, and 263
  • From Richmond: Route 283
