Aviation authorities are trying to determine what caused a passenger jet to slide off the runway at Ottawa International Airport Sunday night.

WestJet Flight 846 from Calgary went off the runway at about 11 p.m.

None of the 92 passengers or crew on the Boeing 737 were injured.

"It was a little frightening. My kids were a little scared but we made it and now I'm seeing my family so I'm happy," a female passenger told CTV News after the incident.

"We didn't know what happened until after we stopped," said another passenger.

Many passengers told CTV News they were impressed with how the pilot and crew handled the situation.

Passengers had to wait on board while the airport sent out buses to bring them back to the terminal.

Officials say the end of the runway was very icy from recent weather conditions.
